The Steve Scruton and Ian Wyatt show features mid-morning conversation, updates and great music and was recorded on Saturday 4th March
One of our trustees Fabiana Goodall spoke with Steve and Ian this month explaining to their listeners what Hardie Park is all about. Earlier in the programme they had given their audience 3 clues to guess whe
re the ‘Outdoor place of the week’ might be. A few listeners located further afield in Chelmsford and Witham also guessed correctly along with a Lesley in Stanford-le-Hope.
The clues given were….
- A community place with an SS17 postcode
- Teaser: Developed by residents
- Cryptic: You might create ‘a darker hip’
During the interview Fabiana gives a concise overview of Hardie Park for those who have never been. She explains that the project provides a safe and happy place in Stanford-le-hope and that our space joins Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham by foot. Many residents have found us through loneliness, bereavement or having been new to the area and wanting to get to know people. It’s a place for all, everyone is welcome. We have a cafe on site and run a food pop-up daily collecting surplus supermarket food from local stores for the benefit of the community. Many clubs and activities run on site in the cafe. The outdoor area provides great play equipment with a skate park.
In a nutshell, you can LISTEN HERE as to why we are so special!
